Come and enjoy a range of captivating pencil studies, created by Julet (Juletimin) a local artist and business owner.
As someone who worked as a hair dresser in a busy people-friendly environment, the isolation of the stay-at-home orders not only impacted Julet financially but also socially, creating a feeling of isolation.
When asked by her husband, what she would do if she wasn’t a hairdresser Julet, replied ‘“Probably something drawing-based, as I was good at it when at school… “
Handed a pencil, some paper, a resting board, and being left undisturbed, it was then that a locked, creaky door into a new world was gently opened.
Relaxed, focused and comfortable in her bedroom, Julet let herself and the pencil flow finding a place of safety away from the backdrop of the very real turmoil of the locked down world and a sense of peace, love and joy.
This exhibition, showcasing the beautiful works created by Julet illustrates the light and joy that can be found in the process of creation and the new pathways that art can bring, perfectly demonstrating Julets motto;
“We are much more than one thing, all we have to do is to tap into it”
