From artist David Velez
BONES is a sonic art installation created with sine waves and field recordings inviting us to listen through our skull, challenging the way we experience sound and perceive our skeletal system.
The installation is created to stimulate the acute sensibility of the jaw and mastoid bones to acoustic vibration by implementing sound transduction and DIY objects, advanced with sine waves and Geophone recordings.
These microphones, which are used to detect earthquakes, record frequencies to which bones are particularly sensitive.
Open Monday to Friday, 10am to 4.30pm from 6th to 27th January here at The Media Centre
