Presented as part of Woven, the festival of innovation in textiles, 8 - 16 June
Join award-winning activist, and founder of the global Craftivist Collective Sarah Corbett, for an hour long craftivism (craft + activism) workshop. You’ll learn about their unique ‘gentle protest’ approach to craftivism which has helped to change laws, business policy, hearts and minds. You will have a go at one of their projects: their letterpress printed Stitch-able Changemakers to take home with you as a form of ‘inner activism’ to keep.
At key times we need to make time to slow down, keep a cool head & think critically about how we can be positive solution-seekers and changemakers not just worried problem-proclaimers. Join this quiet workshop providing a safe space with soothing smells, sounds and create a physical tool to encourage you to be the best global citizen you can be each day.
Stitch by therapeutic stitch, as you reveal the face of your chosen changemaker, reflect on the values threaded through them and their lives to help you reflect on how you can be part of the positive change you wish to see in our fragile world.
This workshop is for adults (ages 14+). No craft skills needed just an open mind and open heart.
3-4pm, tickets £7 full / £5 concession
